An imflamatory (IBD) such as Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis can cause real suffering for an individual and his or her family. Indeed, those who develop an IBD usually experience a lower quality of life as a result of pain, diarrhea, and vomiting. Although a universal cause of Crohn's disease and other IBDs remain unknown, it has now been suggested that for some with an IBD, the prescription drug Accutane may be to blame.
Accutane, also referred to as Isotretinoin is an anti-acne medicine which may have proven to be effective for some, but for others this drug may have caused tremendous pain and suffering. It is now speculated that Accutane may be responsible for causing some to develop Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis. Indeed, Accutane side effects may be dangerous as even acknowledged by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) by their black box warning against Accutane. Needless to say, the dangers of taking Accutane are now known, and because the serious risks of the drug had not been properly communicated to the public following the release of the drug, those who have developed an inflammatory bowel disease after taking Accutane may be able to gain appropriate compensation for all of the suffering that they've had to sustain.
